New Release: Beautiful Lies

Hiya music lovers. After God-knows-how-long, Christopher Cash & The Brilliant Deductions are about ready to release a few tunes. This week we're turning loose of one called Beautiful Lies. We had a lot of fun with this one. It's the first tune we had Chris Mare's on lead guitar for and the first for our keyboard/woodwind player Ron Ebell.

I got the idea for this one thinking about how people love it when you tell them what they want to hear. It doesn't seem to matter whether or not it's true. My ex-boss was notorious for this... communication not one of her strong suits.

I came into the studio with a sheet of lyrics and an idea of 1/4 note Dm chord. I got inspired by Simon Tabron from our pals The Satellite Sons. They recorded a cool tune that rocked the quarter notes and hell, it works. I came in with a germ of an idea and my best buds The Brilliant Deductions did their deducing and figured out the rest. John Saccoman on bass, backing vocals and trumpet, Dick Winter on Drums, Chris Mares on lead guitar, Ron Ebell on Saxes and backing vocals, Shea Thompson on Keys, and backing vocals, your truly Christopher Cash on acoustic guitar and lead vocals. Extra love from Shea at the recording console with plenty of help from our newest Rocketeer Brandon Mercile.

Let us know what you think.

Johnny “Dragonballz” Saccoman

I just wanted to give a big shout out to my best friend John. He is the smartest guy I know and has so much heart. I am truly blessed to have him as a friend.

One afternoon he told me he had an old bass body in his garage and he was thinking of bringing it over to let me have my way with it. I asked him what he had in mind and quizzed him a little on colors and style.

I had never done anything quite like this one… came out ok. The best part was the big smile on John’s face.
