Fun at the Fair

Well, the show at the fair was lots of fun. We now have greater than ever appreciation for sound reinforcement mixers. The guys at Sonic-Rocket have spoiled us. The sound person at the fair did not know what they were doing so the spent the whole hour twiddling knobs on the mixer trying to figure out what they did. What they did was fluctuate between screeching feedback and turning off our monitors. In spite of the distractions we played half decently and had fun time. Some old friends showed up to cheer us on which made it even more special. Thanks to all who came out.

Fun with Flowers

I’m happy to report we had a lot of fun over the last couple sessions working withGreg Lawrence on recording strings on Flowers. Greg came by last week and helped get us started arranging parts. John and I worked something out for Greg to play this week. We got some ge=rest takes and we’re nearly done with the tune now. We’ll add backing vocals next week and it should be ready for mixing.

BTW, Greg’s violin was made in 1760 making it older than USA. Wow… he plays it so beautifully. Thanks Greg

More work on coming releases

We’ve wrapped up tracking on our next coming release Beautiful Lies, so it’s ready for mixing. Spent our last couple sessions tracking guitars for Flowers. Stay tuned. Next week we’ve got the esteemed Greg Lawrence coming by the studio to add strings. S-w-e-e-t.

Just wanted to report that we had a lot of Fun at Aztec Brewing last night. Great gig. Ron Franklin and Tim Lewis were terrific as always. Bruce and the Soul Seekers were outstanding as well. My new band made me feel ten feet tall. Thanks to all who came out and enjoy the evening with us.

Hi friends!

We’re super excited to let you know we’ll be playing at one of our very favorite watering holes Aztec Brewing on Friday, February 22nd at 8pm. This is the maiden voyage of our new line-up featuring lead guitarist Chris Mares and Keyboard / Sax player Ron Ebel. We’ve in the middle slot, playing a 13 song set featuring some of our favorites. We’re bringing out new, more aggressive arrangements and even playing one tune we’ve never before attempted live.

Aztec is located at 2330 La Mirada Blvd. .Suite 200 in Vista. It’s a family friendly venue that serves some of the best beer in San Diego county. Our pals Ron Franklin, and The Soul Seekers join us at this show.
